NOTICE TO PUBLIC
UPPER BRAZOS REGIONAL FLOOD PLANNING GROUP (REGION 7)

The Upper Brazos Regional Flood Planning Group (UBRFPG), as established by the
Texas Water Development Board in accordance with 31 TAC 361, is soliciting nominations
to fill voting member vacancies on the UBRFPG in the following interest area:
Small Businesses.

Article V. Section 3 of the adopted UBRFPG Bylaws states that in order to be eligible for voting
membership, a person must be capable of adequately representing the interest for which
a member is sought, willing to be participate in the regional flood planning process,
attend meetings, and abide by the adopted Bylaws.

Nomination forms may be submitted through email to
cmcneely@spag.org, or by printing the nomination form, completing it, and
mailing. A nomination form must be completed and submitted for each
nominee to be considered. For specific definitions and eligibility requirements in
each of the areas of interest, and to obtain a nomination form, please contact

September 27, 2022 Region 7 -Upper Brazos Regional Flood Planning Group Public Input Meeting

The Upper Brazos Regional Flood Planning Group will hold a hybrid (in-person/Zoom) public input  meeting in Abilene at West Central Texas Council of Governments 3702 loop 322, Abilene, Tx. 79602

The Region 7 Upper Brazos Regional Flood Plan (RFP) Draft addresses the following topics:

  • General description of the planning region
  • Existing and Future flood risk analyses
  • Evaluation and Recommendation of floodplain management practices and goals
  • Flood mitigation needs analysis
  • Identification and evaluation of potential flood management evaluations, strategies, and projects
  • Recommendations of flood management evaluations (FME), flood management strategies (FMS),
    and flood mitigation projects (FMP)
  • Impacts of the regional flood plan and impacts on water supply
  • Flood response information and activities
  • Administrative, regulatory, and legislative recommendations
  • Flood infrastructure financing analysis

The Draft Regional Flood Plan  for Review 

Public Comment may be made during the input meeting on Tuesday September 27, 2022 at 12:00 pm at West Central Texas Council of Governments 3702 Loop 322, Abilene, Tx 79602. Comments may be submitted in person at the meeting, via teleconference or in writing prior to the meeting at the following:
